Policies

All copays and deductibles are expected at the time of your appointment. Copays and deductibles should be checked from your insurance provider before the appointment.

How much does a session cost?

A self-pay or out of pocket psychiatric evaluation  costs $350 (45-60 minutes), and a medication follow-up visit costs $140 (15-30 minutes).

What is YOUR cancellation policy?

If you fail to cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment and you do not show up for your session, you will be required to pay the full fee for your missed session.

What is the medication refill policy?

Most medication refills are addressed at your regular follow up scheduled appointments. Prescriptions will be called in only for current patients. For medication management appointments (once monthly or less frequently), when an appointment is postponed, it is possible that only one week of medication will be called in. If a client continues to postpone appointments, I retain the discretion to provide refills only after the patient is seen in a follow up session. Also, please be advised that controlled substances such as stimulants cannot be called into the pharmacy.

How do you handle phone calls?

If your call is of an urgent nature, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. All phone calls received before 2 pm will be returned the same business day. Calls received after 2 pm will be returned the next business days. Please leave a message if you have an emergency if you are not able to reach the office. Extended time off by the doctor will be communicated in advance to all existing patients.

What is YOUR confidentiality POLICY?

BiBi Health considers confidentiality very seriously. By adhering to HIPPA guidelines, the records and the content of the patient are strictly confidential. For this reason, no information concerning you as a patient is released without your written consent. Consent to release the information must be received in writing before any information is disclosed to family or attorneys or employers. In an emergency when you, the patient, are at imminent risk of death or serious medical consequence, minimal, critically relevant information will be released to assist in preventing dire medical consequences that may result if that relevant information is not released.

In case of a minor, their legal guardian must sign the authorization. In cases where a patient may be a danger to themselves or others, in cases of suspected of child or elder abuse, in cases where a patient may be incapable of taking care of themselves, or certain legal proceedings when required by a judicial subpoena, the physician is legally bound to break doctor-patient confidentiality.

What can I expect in my first session?

Once the paperwork has been completed by you and copays or deductible paid, the first session will be for 45 to 60 minutes. In this the focus will be on gathering information about your health history, the reason for you seeking treatment, social history and answering any questions that you may have regarding your reason for seeking treatment. Treatment recommendations and medication management will be presented.

How frequently will I be seen?

Initially, if you are being advised a new medication, you will be seen biweekly, followed by monthly and then three-monthly visits. Frequent visits will be advised while starting and changing medications. Controlled substances will be prescribed only for one month and you will have to be seen monthly in order to prescribe medication for next 30-day supply.
